Description
Aesculus hippocastanum, the horse chestnut or conker tree, is a large tree belonging to the family of Sapindaceae. It is commonly identified as fake chestnut because its fruits have a great external similarity to those of the trees of the genus Castanea of the phagaceae family. The flowers are usually white with a small red spot; they are produced in spring in erect panicles 10ââ¬â30 cm tall with about 20ââ¬â50 flowers on each panicle.
