Portrait of proud Ethiopian farmer and grain harvest #85268146
Description
ETHIOPIA, district Sululta, CHANCHO Gaba Robi village: old man Oromo, largest ethnic population group in Ethiopia, inspects proud supplies of grain, new cereal harvest. The grains slip from his hand. Proudly watching. The grain is stored in a traditional `silo`, which is made of woven branches. Given the drought and famine crop supply is a very precious thing. Large parts of Ethiopia, East or Horn of Africa, many years are indeed affected by prolonged drought [droughts, dryness], water shortages, poor harvests, crop failures and famine. Live and daily life, living and housing of a small Ethiopian farmer, peasant, in the countryside. With this harvest this poor farmer and his family can survive until the next harvest period.
