Daffodils, the flower symbolizing friendship. The flowers have a trumpet structure set against a star shaped background. They are among the first to bloom in spring and continue through May. They often grow in large clusters covering entire yards and hillsides in yellow. They grow perennially from bulbs. Generally daffodils are yellow, however, they range from yellow and white, yellow and orange, white and yellow, pink and lime-green. The natural daffodil is golden yellow while the trumpet may have a contrasting color. They need sun and rich, well-drained soil.
