Description
The church of Santa MarÃÂa, Cangas de OnÃÂs, Asturias (Spain). Its first structure was of a medieval temple that was extended by Manuel Martin Rodriguez, following a neoclassical lines. It underwent different reforms in the XVIII and was damaged in the Civil War. Today the temple has a Latin cross form, three naves, a cruise nave, and on this one a tower. It is remarkable its bell tower of three stepped floors, that decrease in width, finished off by a triangular pediment. It is known in the area as the church of Arriba although its official title was that of Our Lady of the Assumption.
