Description
This is a Winter picture of one of nine outdoor Prayer rooms, covered in snow, at the Baha`i House of Worship located in Wilmette, Illinois in Cook County. The temple was constructed from 1912-1953 and was designed by Louis Jean Bourgeois. The unified garden designed by landscape architect Hilbert Dahl, the garden consists of nine rectangular gardens some with reflecting pools, reminiscent of those found in the East, and this picture is one of the nine round gardens featuring round pools representing the West. The temple was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 23, 1978. This picture was taken on March 15, 2017.
