Kampong Plug floating village, Cambodia #89343003
Description
Kampong Plug is an important historical park since 9th century of Hariharalaya or Rolous city. When the king Jayavarman II moved the city from Phnom Kulen mountain to re-build the Rolous city again. The king Jayavarman II ordered his royal followers to dig the water canal to link the Great Tonle Sap lake and Mekong river. The artificial water canal is believed to transport commodities and cargo to his city. The stilted homes 8 meters in height in the Kampong Plug artificial water canal close to Tonle Sap lake bank comprise the massive Kampong Plug village.
