The entrance to Asansor, an elevator building built in 1907 by Jewish banker and trader Nesim Levi. It is located in the Karatas quarter of Izmir, Turkey. It was a public service in order to ease passage from the narrow coastline of Karataà Ÿ to the hillside. The elevator within the building served to carry people and goods through the steep cliff between the two parts of the quarter.
