This is an image isolated on a white background of a newly emerged Giant Atlas Moth (Attacus atlas). This moth is native to southeast Asia and is the largest moth in the world. Although it may remain in the cocoon for up to five years it emerges without a digestive system and lives only a few days thereafter.
