Netherlands, North Holland province, city, fortified town Enkhuizen: the Koepoort or Westerpoort is a city gate built mid seventeenth, 17th, century. The gateway was for centuries the western gate of the town and is a part of the fortifications, city wall, walls. In the eighteenth century the tower was provided with a dome, cupola, and at the end of that century, a clock with bell was installed in the dome. It is a Dutch-classical gatehouse. Dome clock with bells, bell. This historic building is a landmark building, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction. Since the end of the twentieth, 20th, century, on the city side of the urban there is the image of the city virgin of Enkhuizen with city arms, three herrings on blue shield.
