Salvation Mountain Front End Loader Editorial Image

Bucket of a front end loader located on the grounds of Salvation Mountain. Painted on the front end loader are the words, `Jesus Loves You, as well as references to various books in the New Testament, including Jude, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, James, 1 John, 2 John and 3 John as well as Revelations. Salvation Mountain is a tribute to God and was created by Leonard Knight as a gift to the work expressing the statement, `God is love` boldly painted at the top of the mountain. The mountain is 50 feet high and 150 feet wide and is made totally of local adobe clay and donated paint. The mountain is located near Slab City in Imperial County, California, several miles from the Salton Sea.
