Description
The building is a public law court in the city of Lyon `cour d`appel` and `cour d`assises`. The picture has been taken from the public street infront of it. It is not part of any site or compound that requires a property release and therefore can be freely used. The colonnade / row of columns in the style of neoclassicism resembles the ones of greek or roman temples. This architectural style has often been used for public buildings as palaces, law courts, universities / colleges, banks and others. The columns are kept in corinthian style, ornate with floral acanthus decorations. French inscriptions have been removed to make the picture more usable for different purposes.
