Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. Visitors can watch the elephants being fed at 7:30AM and again in the afternoon. What a beautiful sight to see these well cared for, healthy elephants. It is a must see for visitors to Sri Lanka.
