Palermo, Sicily, Italy - July 27, 2010: The Vigliena, also known as Piazza Quattro Canti or Octagon of the Sun, is an octagonal square at the intersection of two main roads of Palermo, Via Maqueda and Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the ancient road Phoenician which connected the acropolis and the Norman Palace to the sea. The area was rearranged at the beginning of the seventeenth century, in Baroque style, with the south facade incorporated into the Church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini
