The Mississippian Alligator #93186169
Description
The Mississippian Alligator, [2] or the American Alligator Alligator mississippiensis is one of two known alligator species. Occurs in North America and is considered endemic to the southeastern United States. This animal is a large crocodile-like reptile inhabiting freshwater reservoirs, such as lakes, rivers and cypress swamps from Texas to North Carolina. It differs from the sympatric sharply crocodile with a broader muzzle, darker color and less tolerance for salt water, compensated by the possibility of being in colder water. In comparison with the second representative of the genus, the Chinese alligator, the Mississippian alligator is much larger.
