Description
The Bristle-thighed Curlew Numenius tahitiensis is a very rare and endangered shorebird species. They spend the summer in Alaska and migrate to the tropical south Pacific islands for the winter. It is believed that there are less than 10,000 left in the wild. This bird was photographed at the James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge on the Island of Oahu in Hawaii.
