St. Isaac`s Cathedral. the Cathedral of St. Isaac of Dalmatia is the largest Orthodox Cathedral in St Petersburg. Located on St. Isaac`s square. Has the status of a Museum Museum complex `State Museum-monument `St. Isaac`s Cathedral``. Built in 1818-1858 years by architect Auguste Montferrand; the construction was supervised by the Emperor Nicholas I, the Chairman of the Commission on the construction of the Cathedral was Carl Opperman. Montferrand creation ââ¬â the fourth temple in honor of Isaac of Dalmatia, built on the site in St. Petersburg. Consecrated in the name of St. Isaac of Dalmatia, revered Saint Peter I, as Emperor was born on the day of his memory ââ¬â 30 may on the Julian calendar. Solemn consecration on may 30 June 11 1858 a new Cathedral was officiated by the Metropolitan of Novgorod, St-Petersburg, Estonian and Finnish Gregory Postnikov. Registered in June 1991, the Church community had the opportunity to perform in Cathedral worship. Worship at St. Isaac`s Cathedral held daily, except Wednesdays.
