This is a Summer picture of the main entrance of the Anamosa State Penitentiary located in Anamosa, Iowa in Jones County. The fortress was designed by the architects Foster, William; Lieberman, Henry Franz. It is an example of Gothic Revival architecture, and was constructed 1875-1899. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1992. This picture was taken on zjune 25, 2017.
