A half-timbered house or timber-framed house a more appropriate expression when the house is on several floors, is a house made up of two main elements:a framework of wood, made up of timber frames and the hurdle, made of bricks mostly floods, rubble stones or light materials such as mud or plaster. Photo taken during the Christmas market which explains that the shutters of the house has winter painting. Typical architecture of Alsace.
