Side view detail of the Toplita thermal waterfall. #97474866
Description
The waterfall from Toplita town has mezotermal waters reaching a temperature of about 26-27 degrees Celsius that flow over the travertine rocks. Declared natural monument, the waterfall, unique in our country and the second in Europe after the waterfall of Saturnia - Italy, lies in a protected area of national interest, part of a natural geological reservation. It frequently changes its color from white to brown due to the travertine deposits. In the winter, the waterfall does not freeze completely and stalactites of ice are formed.
