Description
The island Stolobny on the lake Seliger is the home of Nilov Monastery, which was founded by Saint Nilus in 1594. From the Archbishop`s Wharf you can see the gate Church of Reverend Nilus Stolobensky located on the East holy gate and fragment of the Epiphany Cathedral, which is the main temple of the monastery complex. Both buildings are excellent examples of Neoclassicism in architecture.
