The White Fortress is the tower on the Dariva - MoÃ
¡Ãâ¡anica road, on the eastern hight of Sarajevska valley. It was erected on the site of a medieval fortress, built around 1550. The upper part of Tabor in large stone blocks was created in the Austro-Hungarian period. The tower was of great importance for the defense of the city during the attack of Austrian prince Eugen Savojski in the 17th century, and the Austro-Hungarian army in 1878. The white tab is located within the architectural ensemble of Old Town Vratnik, which was proclaimed National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
