Mute swan - cygnus olora - is a large white waterbird, belonging to the family of swans, ducks & geese, Anatidae . It has a long S-shaped neck, and an orange bill with black at the base. Flies with its neck extended and regular slow wing beats. Swans have colonized most of the inland waterways of London and suburban areas, most of them having become resident.
