Description
The old town Blagaj, also known as Bona or Stjepan-city, is a fortress in the area of Blagaj Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located on the top of the karst hut above the river Buna. Access to sharp harrows, 2 m narrow and 900 m long horse trail, leads to the entrance to the strongest eastern wall of the lobby. The Blagaj Fortress is located on a flooded terrain in the form of an elongated triangle of about 2 hectares. At one corner are the remains of the Illyrian fortress, in the other remains of the Roman castrum, and in the third remains of the medieval or fortress from the Ottoman period. The walls are largely preserved up to 12 m in height and the thickness ranges from 1.5 to 2.0 m. On the west side were the towers that led the stairs. The town had a wooden palace built in the XIV century. In the south wall there was a secret passage for emergency exit.
