Victory Day Zafer Bayrami is a national holiday in Turkey, always celebrated on 30th of August every year - commemorating the Turkish victory over Greek invaders in 1922. It may also be known as Armed Forces Day. Many people in Turkey celebrate Victory Day by attending military parades, which take place in many big cities throughout the country. In smaller summer vacation kind of towns however, parades and celebrations usually combine with public concerts and other kinds of art and music activities like people marching together with Turkish flags and singing anthems.
