Description
Tourists enjoyed their time aboard the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad which was built in 1898 concurrent with the Klondike gold rush in the Yukon Territory. It was discontinued in 1982, but revived in 1988 as a strictly tourist railroad shuttling sightseers through magnificent scenery in an hour and a quarter ride from White Pass, Yukon, which has an elevation of 2,864 feet down to Skagway, Alaska at sea level, where they are disembarking. The stunning landscape image is at th Skagway terminus. This photo was taken on July 27, 2017.
