Description

A view from what was the Barbican of the causeway that leads up to the gatehouse of this historic Norman Medieval Castle. The gatehouse`s eastwards-facing tower contains the Chapel, the stained glass window of which can be seen to the left of entrance to the castle. The Parliamentary forces slighted the castle during the English Civil War and it finally descended into ruin during the 1640s.
