Description
The neon Pegasus is an enduring and most recognizable landmarks of Dallas. The city obtained it from Mobil Oils sale of its downtown headquarters when Mobile merged with the Magnolia Petroleum. Originally, Magnolia Petroleum erected it as their logo in 1934. A working copy, seen here sits on the corner outside the city`s one thousand room Omni Convention Hotel that is attached to the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. The original can still be seen from a southern view approach atop the Magnolia Hotel Building.
