The Bucegi Mountains are located in central Romania, south of the city of BraÃËââ¢ov. The massif, having great structural and morphological complexity, covers an area of âââ‰â¬Â¹Ã¢ââ‰â¬Â¹about 300 km2 and stretches between Prahova Valley and Bran corridor to the east and Ialomita Valley to the west. To the north, it falls steeply down to Barsa depression and to the south, it meets the Curvature Subcarpathians. Bucegi Natural Park offers several sights protected as nature reserves: Bucsoiu steep slope, Malaiesti Valley, Gaura Valley, where you can find most of the mountain goats chamois. The upper part of âââ‰â¬Â¹Ã¢ââ‰â¬Â¹the spruce forests is also under protection. Here, goats retreat in winter. It is where you can also find other protected animals, such as the lynx, the wood grouse, as well as many rare plant species. This was the mountain view from Rasnov Castle.
