Ovakudani, the Big Boiling Valley #99831958
Description
. Owakudani, or the Big Boiling Valley, is a crater made from an eruption of Mt. Kami about 3,000 years ago during the last eruption of the Hakone volcano. Until the late 19th century, people called this valley ââ¬ÅO-jigoku great hell.ââ¬Â It is still covered in the smelling steam that pours from active sulfur vents and the Owakudani Nature Trail of 670 meters delivers picturesque views of the ominous Mt. Fuji.
