Jeffery`s Toys has been serving San Francisco since 1966, but when it started out in 1938, it was Birdies Variety, a five & dime store, which included a toy section. When WW2 ended, a baby boom began, Birdie and her husband Morton were again joined by their two sons Manny and Joe, who returned from the war, and in tie they decided to sell just toys. And the name was finally changed to Jeffery`s, in honer of Manny`s youngest son.
