This is an early Spring picture of the west view of the pivot pier of the Cherry Avenue Bridge over the North Branch of the Chicago River located in Chicago, Illinois in Cook County. The 40 wheels support and turn the 230 foot long Asymmetrical ââ¬Åbob-tailââ¬Â style swing span bridge. This historic railroad bridge was built in 1902 and declared a Chicago Landmark on December 12, 2007. This picture was taken on April 6, 2019.
