Benito Pablo Juárez García was born the 21st of March, 1806. He died the 18th of July, 1872. He was a Mexican lawyer and president of Mexico 1858 until his natural death in 1872. He was of Zapotec origin from Oaxaca. He is a national hero and symbol of Mexican nationalism and resistance to foreign intervention. His birthday is a national public and patriotic holiday in Mexico, the only individual Mexican so honored.
