Room 11 in the second part of the museum itinerary, a time the private apartments of Palazzo Braschi on the second floor, is dedicated to faces and histories of popes and cardinals between the sixteen and eighteen century in Rome. The collection of portraits and busts tries to reveal the human being behind the the social status and power and to narrow their passions and human aspects that are they too part of the history of the city. Located in the heart of Renaissance Rome, between Piazza Navona and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II Palazzo Braschi was the last palace builded for a nephew of a pope, Pius VII, in 18th century. From 1952 it houses the Museum of Rome that conserves examples of art, history and culture of the city, as well as the memory of the urban changes and those parts that were lost or disappeared in time.
