Description
The Room of the Clover in the Casina delle Civette, exceptional example of Roman Liberty style today Museum of Villa Torlonia, Rome, Italy. This room takes its name from the clover motif recurrent in its decoration. The ceiling shows a pattern of clover fronds woven together, while the floor design takes up the same motif. The windows contain two pieces of stained glass in a medieval style, showing the arms of the Torlonia family roses and comets. The Room of the Clover and the adjoining room also display a series of preparatory sketches for the stained glass of the Waldensian Church in Piazza Cavour in Rome by Paolo Paschetto. The house of the owls, which was the residence of Prince Giovanni Torlania the younger until his death in 1938, is today part of the Museum complex of Villa Torlonia and has been designated as the Museum of Liberty Glass.
