Hope, born in England, had a nearly 80-year showbiz career as a stand-up comedian, actor, singer, dancer, and even used his considerable athletic abilities as a boxer in his youth. He is know for his tireless years of touring, entertaining American troops abroad for the USO. Hope died on June 27, 2003, at the age of 100.
