Description
An ionic colonnade at Princeton Battlefield state park in Princeton New Jersey. The columns were designed by Thomas Walter who also designed the Dome of the US Capitol building. They originally were part of a Philadelphia mansion and were salvaged and dedicated at the battlefield in 1959. They became a National Historic Monument in 1962. The battle of Princeton took place on January 3 1777 during the American Revolutionary War between England and America.
