Description
A monument stands tribute to Confederate soldiers in a mostly unmarked cemetery on the Manassas Civil War site, operated by the National Parks. This battlefield was granted to the Park Service by a local under the condition that it was named Manassas. During the Civil War, the North named sites for local landmarks and the South named sites by nearby towns. This area would be known to the North as Bull Run.
