Oscar-winning director Sydney Pollack arrives on the red carpet for the world premiere of his film, `The Interpreter,` on Opening Night of the 4th Annual Tribeca Film Festival at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City on April 19, 2005. Pollack won 2 Oscars for `Out of Africa,` one for directing and the other for best picture. `The Interpreter` marked the first time a film had been shot on location at the United Nations headquarters, including the General Assembly, in Manhattan. Pollack was also a producer and actor. He died from cancer at his home in Pacific Palisades, California on May 26, 2008 at the age of 73.
