Many Thais of Chinese descent flock to the Tai Hong Kong shrine to pray for good health, protection & wealth, Chinatown, Bangkok #237228284
Description
The Tai Hong Kong shrine on Phlap Phla Chai Road in Bangkok, was built in 1909 by Chinese merchants to pay homage to Tai Hong, a Buddhist monk who lived more than 900 years ago in Guangdong, China. He helped the poor and the sick in many places as well as assisted in the burial of the deceased with no family. His benevolence inspired his followers to establish many foundations. Among them is Poh Teck Tung Foundation, a large rescue and charitable organisation that was founded in Thailand more than a century ago.
