Roscoe Brown At The `Red Tails` Premiere In NYC In 2012 Editorial Image

Roscoe C. Brown Jr. arrives at the New York City premiere of `Red Tails` at the Ziegfeld Theatre on January 10, 2012. Carter was a member of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen corps and captain of the 100th fighter squadron. He was among those who overcame racism in America and then took on fascism in Europe during World War Two. Dr. Brown became an educator and was a president of the Bronx Community College and then became director of urban education at the City University of New York. He was awarded a Congressional Gold Medal in 2007. Brown died on July 2, 2016 at the age of 95.
