Anubis or Inpu - the ancient Egyptian god of funeral rituals and mummification, embalming, the `guardian of the scales` at the court of Osiris in the kingdom of the dead, a connoisseur of healing herbs. Ancient Egypt, Saqqara. Limestone, painting. XVIII Dynasty, reign of Tutankhamun. Third quarter of the 14th century BC. The stele is on display in the Egyptian Hall of the State Hermitage Museum.
