Pictured is the information plaque for Major Ripley Arnold and American Indians in John V. McMillan Plaza. The centerpiece of the plaza is a twelve foot bronze statue of the founder of Fort Worth, Major Ripley Arnold. It was created in 2014 by sculptor Archie St. Clair. It stands very near the original site of the fort established in 1849 by Arnold. John V. McMillan was born in 1913 and died in 2001. He was a successful business man who founded Coors Distributing Company and he was very active in the civic affairs of Fort Worth, Texas.
