Pictured is a painted stela inside the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo, Egypt. A stela is a slab or slabs of stone with inscriptions or depictions which were used for commemorative purposes. The museum was built in 1901 to a design by French architect Marcel Dourgnon. In 2022, the museum is due to be superseded by the newer and larger Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.
