Description
Pictured is polychrome decoration on the North side of the East wall of the 1st chamber TT218, the Tomb of Amennakht in Deir el-Medina, Egypt. Amennakht and Imyway are under the date palm tree. Amennakht was an Ancient Egyptian artisan and was called a Servant in the Place of Truth, as were other artisans who lived in Deir el-Medina and decorated tombs in the Valley of the Kings. His wife was Imyway and they had two sons who were also artisans, Nebenmatt buried with his wife Mertseger in TT219, and Khaemteri buried in TT220. The tombs shared a forecourt and three chapels.
