The Dove room in the Fortress of Vignola near Modena, Italy. #284631274
Description
Pictured is the Dove room in the Fortress of Vignola near Modena, Italy. The room owes it's name to the device of the white dove with spread wings on an azure or red background which is represented on the walls. These frescoes were restored at the beginning of the 20th century by the Boncompagni-Ludovisi family. Above the fireplace is the combined coat of arms of the family with the truncated dragon without a tail of the Boncompagni family and the three vertical stripes of the Ludovisi family.
