Pagoda Tree Royalty-Free Stock Image

Pagoda tree (Stylnolobium japonicum (L.) Schott) is a deciduous tree of the Sophora genus in the leguminous family. The bark is dark gray, the crown is spherical, and when old, it appears flat or obovate. The branches and leaves are densely packed, with pinnate compound leaves. Panicle terminal, butterfly shaped, with yellow white flowers in summer, slightly fragrant. The pods are fleshy, rosary like and not cracked, yellow green, often hanging from tree tops, and do not fall during winter, containing seeds. The seeds are kidney shaped and brownish black.
