Alaska Creek Street Dining and Shopping #29000055
Description
Creek Street, famous as the one time "red light" district of Ketchikan, is now full of craft and gift shops, as well as several restaurants, where dance halls, bars, and houses of ill repute once stood. Pictured left here is "Halibut Hole", a popular place to eat along the boardwalk. A popular summer cruise ship port of call, Ketchikan is located at the start of the Inside Passage in southeast Alaska. Known as the "Salmon Capital of the World", tourism, timber harvesting, and fishing, both recreational and commercial, are the cornerstones of the local economy.
