Description
This is a picture of the Sheldon Peck Homstead. Peck was a folk artist, abolitionist, and social activist. The house built in 1839 hosted the first public school in the area, but of historic significance the house served as a stop of the Underground Railroad used to lead slaves to Canada and freedom. In August 2011 the house was registered on the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom. This picture was taken on November 10, 2014.
