Title
Goodrich Castle, Herefordshire. #99154277
Description
Goodrich is built on a sandstone outcrop and is one of the finest and best preserved of the English medieval castles. The corner towers have high spur buttresses to help prevent undermining during a siege and it has a huge manmade ditch right-hand side for added protection. The Parliamentary forces slighted the castle during the English Civil War and it finally descended into ruin during the 1640s.
