Inaugurated on November 3, 2014, the 1776 foot tall Freedom Tower, with its 408 foot spire, becomes not only the tallest building to adorn the Manhattan skyline, but also the western hemisphere. Built to replace the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center destroyed in the 9/11 terrorist attack, its height becomes symbolic of the year of signing of the American Declaration of Independence.
